Thank you again for providing a beautiful Home Away From Home for the second year in a row for April snowmobiling. Trail conditions were excellent and every one here in Northern Maine is so helpfull and kind. In the last 3 days we rode 700+ miles and loved every minute. You both have a beautiful place here and should be proud of your service.

We truly enjoyed our stay in cabin #3. The cabin was comfortable and very clean with all the comforts and conveniences of home. The Can-Am Dog Sled races was a first for us to see and a lot of fun. We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon snowshoeing on some wonderful trails at the Recreational Center in Eagle Lake. (Thanks Amy for info on trails). The only regret is that our stay was too short. We hope to come back soon.

Some people come to Eagle Lake and the surrounding area to hunt for bear and other animals and for sports like snowmobiling and snowshoeing, etc. Don and I arrived several years ago "hunting for an old cabin built by his Dad, Seymour, and a Maine Guide in the 1930s." We did not rent from Amy & Ron that year but the place that we did stay in was serviced by Amy & Ron. It was right on the lake. They were so attentive to our every need and we got to know the family and especially Ron as he took us out to try and find the cabin.
Going down the thorofare, our canoe dragged on the shallow bottom. Ron hopped out and pulled us the rest of the way!!! How about that for service and attention? We didn't find the cabin that summer, but the next summer we came back and showed Ron some other old photos that Don found in stored-away family stuff. Ron immediately knew, from the shape of the land at the water's edge, which cabin it was on Eagle Lake. What fun to discover the cabin, to meet the current owners and to actually have dinner there---thanks to Ron. It was the culmination of several years of research on Don's part. We shared info with them and they, in turn, were able to verify etchings on logs, etc. that they found (but have since painted over). It was great and happened only because of Ron and his expert knowledge of Eagle Lake.
We came back the next year and stayed at the Camps (where Don stayed in the 1950s as a little boy! What a grand experience that was, too!) and back again in 2007--this time our daughter and future son-in-law visited us and got to meet Amy and the girls (Ron & Ronnie were away). We all stayed in one of their lovely cabins. We had so much fun that week. They also ordered perfect weather for us!
We've traveled a lot and had many nice experiences in our 20 years together, but we both agree that the Eagle Lake Experience and meeting the Ricciardi's is at the top of our list!
Long trip from Philly to Eagle Lake? Yes? Worth it? Indeed it is! Maine, the way life is supposed to be!!! Pond Brook Cabins, the way a vacation is supposed to be!!!! :cool

Hi Ron, Amy, Ronnie, Kimmy and Sammy,

I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell other people how we met. It was my first time beer hunting in Maine 1980. Ron was guiding for his father, Benjamin Ricciardi, who owned and operated Chubby's Sportsmens Inn. When I arrived at camp Ron and his dad greeted me and my frends who invited me to hunt with them. Every one was so friendly. The camp was top shelf from the rooms to the lodging andthe food. The next day Ron took me to a HOT BEAR STAND! I saw so many bears I thought he was letting them out of cages. I was shaking so hard I missed every bear I shot at. That night Ron and I talked about how I needed to take a few deep breaths and relax. The next day ron took me back out and I killed my first black bear. When Ron came to get me I asked him if it was a nice bear he said oh ya then he asked me if i wanted to ride in the back of the truck on the way home so the bear wouldn't blow out on the way home. I cracked up and Ron and I became best friends from that day on. I went back every year and killed some really nice bears. My wife and I went to their wedding I remember when little Ronnie was born. He's not so little any more. Ron and Amy asked me to be Ronnie's god father. I was honored. Then came Kimmy and Sammy. Ron and Amy were blessed with a beautiful family. I bought property there and can't wait to build a cabin. Ron and his family have spent many of good times with MaryLee and I in New Jersey, and we have spent many good times with them in Maine. We're like family now any one who goes there would see what I mean 4/1/08
PS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD HUNT FISHING OR A GREAT PLACE TO GET AWAY ITS BEAUTIFUL.
Love you guys, Steve and MaryLee Ficarro
I LOVE YOU GUYS STEVE,MARYLEE FICARRO.

I'm so gld that we decided on your cabin to stay during our vacation. The charm and location is perfect! Lakeside, next to marina, nearby restaurants, grocery store and of course the ice cream parlor! Perfect! We've stayed at many cabins during or summer vacations and found your to be extremely comfortable, beautiful furnishings and all the coveniences of home. Well done folks! Hope to see you next year.

The charm of the cabin and the ambience of all that Eagle Lake has to offer was more than we had hoped for in 2007. Thanks for everything!

Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation. What a beautiful log house (cabin)you have here. Can't tell you how much fun we've had here, fishing was great and boating too. The think I enjoyed most was to be inside the beautiful cabin, just to relax.
